Predictions for 189s are all a bit pointless at the moment. But to show which occupations MAY get invites and which ones will not we have compiled a VERY rough estimate below for the rest of this program year.
With the following assumptions …
Assumptions
DHA have a budget target of 6,500 for 189s including NZ citizens
There are approx 2.0 applicants for each visa application and need to allow for NZ stream
We will estimate 1600 primary invites for the 189 points test program
Have been 960 so far, so around 100 per round for the rest of this program year
This looks to be just COVID 19 recovery occupations.The rest we will allocate 0 invites
(note that Medical Laboratory Scientists are likely to have got down to 65 points now and so any score of that or above is likely to get a 189 invite. Other COVID occupations do not seem to have got this low .. Nurses etc)
DHA change their policy every month it seems at the moment, so all figures are subject to change as always. We all await the vaccine and open borders to get back to some consistency …
